Buffardin, Pierre-Gabriel
Buffardin, Pierre-Gabriel, French flutist; b.Provence, c. 1690; d. Paris, Jan. 13, 1768. He joined the Dresden Court Orch. in 1715, returning to France in 1750. He was highly regarded as a teacher, numbering among his pupils Johann Jacob Bach (brother of J.S. Bach) and J.J. Quantz.
