Brudieu, Joan

Brudieu, Joan, French-Catalonian composer; b. in the diocese of Limoges, c. 1520; d. Urgel, between April 22 and May 10, 1591. In 1539 he became choirmaster at the Urgel Cathedral, a post he held until 1577. He then served as maestro de capilla and organist at Santa Maria del Mar in Barcelona (1578–79), and subsequently resumed his Urgel post. His extant works include a four-part Requiem Mass and Spanish madrigals.
