Bjórnsson, Árni
Bjórnsson, Árni, Icelandic composer; b. Loni i Kelduhverfi, Dec. 23, 1905; d. Reykjavík, July 3, 1995. He studied theory, composition, piano, and organ at the Reykjavík Coll. of Music, and later went to England, where he enrolled at the Royal Manchester Coll. of Music. Subsequently he returned to Reykjavík, where he joined the faculty of the Coll. of Music. He composed orch. pieces and much choral music in a general Romantic vein.
