The Sixth Sense
The Sixth Sense ★★★ 1999 (PG-13)
Creepy psycho thriller about a traumatized young boy who can communicate with the dead (this is not the film's big surprise). Failed child shrink Malcolm Crowe (Willis in an excellent subdued performance) takes on the case of 9-year-old Cole (a touching Osment, carrying the picture on frail shoulders), who's divorced mom, Lynn (Collette), is worried about her terrified son's nightmares and episodes of acting out. Well, if you saw dead people all the time, you'd be scared too. When Crowe (who's dealing with traumas of his own) finally believes Cole, it leads to a breakthrough and an unexpected twist on what's happened before. 107m/C VHS, DVD .
