A musical/mystery/fantasy British miniseries, based on the work by Dennis Potter. Pulp fiction writer Phillip Marlowe (Gambon) is confined to his hospital bed, unable to move due to extreme psoriasis. In his lucid moments he tries to figure out the cause of his condition, but in his elaborate daydreams he's a detective (and big band singer) who's working to solve a series of murders.
