One Hour with You ★★½ 1932
Lubitsch remade his 1924 silent, “The Marriage,” into this musical comedy. Parisian doctor Andre Bertier (Chavalier) may be wed to Colette (MacDonald) but that doesn't stop his roving eye. Married Mitzi (Tobin) has designs on Andre and when her suspicious husband (Young) threatens to name him in a divorce suit, Andre is forced to reveal all to the miffed Colette, who decides to get even. Cukor started out as director but quit because of producer Lubitsch's interference and he finished the picture himself. 80m/B DVD . Maurice Chevalier, Charlie Ruggles, Jeanette MacDonald, Genevieve Tobin, Roland Young, Richard Carle, George Barbier, Joseph Dunn; D: Ernst Lubitsch, George Cukor; W: Samson Raphaelson; C: Victor Milner; M: Oscar Straus.
