Gun Shy
Gun Shy ★★ 2000 (R)
Psychiatry and organized crime collide again, but this time it's the cops in therapy. Well, one of ‘em at least. Charlie (Neeson) is a burned-out DEA agent forced back undercover as a go-between for an Italian gangster (Platt) who knows he's a cliche and a Colombian drug cartel leader (Zuniga) who believes investing in bean futures is some sort of ethnic no-no. Charlie's work problems lead him to a men's therapy group and a nurse (Bullock) dubbed the “Enema Queen.” Yep, it's mostly that kind of humor. The crime figures are thin, and Blakenly needs to work on his comic and scene timing, but Neeson fares pretty well. The group sessions are highlights, but the payoff isn't as big as one would hope. 102m/C VHS, DVD .
