Dead Leaves
Dead Leaves ★½ 1998
After a young girl falls to her death her unstable boyfriend steals the body and embarks on a trip from New York to West Virginia, stopping along the way to perform strange rituals to preserve her beauty. As she increasingly decays physically so does he emotionally and mentally. Art-house flick has hypnotic music, long frames of rainy highways, deserted hotels, gloomy urban landscapes topped with narratives of dark poetry to portray the mood and feeling of a mad love. Not much in the way of dialogue, as the conversations tend to be a little one-sided. 80m/C DVD, UMD . Haim Abramsky, Beth Gondek; D: Constantin Werner; W: Constantin Werner; C: Mindaugas Blaudziunas.
