The Dagger of Kamui
The Dagger of Kamui ★★★ Kamui No Ken; Revenge of the Ninja Warrior 1985
The only family Jiro has ever known is killed and he is accused of the crime. The evil Tenkai promises to take him to the real killer, but Jiro does not realize until later how cruelly he has been tricked. Then Jiro goes on a quest to find his past, all the while being manipulated by a vast and complex political machine. Watching this and Jiro's reactions make this anime more than a simple adventure or coming of age story. Whatever their motivations, Jiro's travels take him as far as America and into the paths of some characters as familiar to Western viewers as the historical figures in his homeland are to anyone knowledgeable of Japanese history. Based on the novels by Tetsu Yano. 132m/ C VHS, DVD . JP Michio Hazama; D: Taro Rin.
