Latin empress of Constantinople. Name variations: Yolande de Courtenay; Yolande of Alsace; Yolande of Constantinople. Empress from 1217 to 1219; died in 1219; daughter of Baldwin V, count of Hainault (Baldwin VIII of Flanders), and Margaret of Alsace (d. 1194); sister of Baldwin IX, count of Flanders and Hainault (crowned Baldwin I of Constantinople); married Peter II (Pierre II) of Courtenay (d. 1218), emperor of Constantinople (r. 1216–1218); children: Marie de Courtenay ; Yolande de Courtenay (d. 1233).
