Byzantine empress. Born a princess of the Khazar tribe in the Russian steppes; died around 750; first wife of Constantine V Kopronymus, Byzantine emperor (r. 741–775); children: Leo IV the Khazar, Byzantine emperor (r. 775–780, who married Irene of Athens ).
