Considered one of the finest coloratura singers of her generation, Czechoslovakian soprano Edita Gruberová studied in Prague and Vienna before making her debut with the Slovak National Theater. She has performed at the Vienna State Opera, Bayreuth, Frankfurt Opera, and, in America, at the Chicago Lyric Opera.
