Elizabeth of Brabant (1243–1261)
Princess of Brabant. Born in 1243; died on October 9, 1261; daughter of Sophia of Thuringia (1224–1284) and Henry II (1207–1248), duke of Brabant (r. 1235–1248); married Albert I, duke of Brunswick-Luneburg, on July 13, 1254. Two years after the death of Elizabeth of Brabant, Albert I married Adelheid of Montferrat (d. 1285), daughter of Boniface III, marquess of Montferrat; Albert and Adelheid had seven children.
