Born on July 30, 1601; died on May 6, 1659; daughter of Magdalene of Brandenburg (1582–1616) and Louis V, landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt; married George of Brunswick-Luneberg, duke of Brunswick, on December 14, 1617; children: Christian Louis (b. 1622), duke of Brunswick-Zelle; George William (b. 1624), duke of Brunswick-Zelle; John Frederick (b. 1625), duke of Brunswick; Sophia Amelia of Brunswick-Lüneberg (1628–1685); Ernest August (b. 1629), duke of Brunswick-Lunen.
