American stage and screen actress. Name variations: Verree Menjou; Verrée Teasdale. Born Mar 15, 1904, in Spokane, WA; died Feb 17, 1987, in Culver City, CA; cousin of Edith Wharton (the writer); m. William O'Neal (div.); m. Adolph Menjou (actor), 1934 (died 1963).
Made Broadway debut as Augusta Winslow-Martin in The Youngest (1924), followed by The Morning After, The Master of the Inn, The Constant Wife, Elizabeth and Essex, The Greeks Had a Word for It and Experience Unnecessary, among others; films include Syncopation, The Sap from Syracuse, Payment Deferred, Roman Scandals, Fashions of 1934, Madame Du Barry, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Topper Takes a Trip and Come Live with Me.
