Spooner, Edna May (1873–1953)
American actress. Born May 10, 1873, in Centerville, IA; died July 14, 1953, in Sherman Oaks, CA; dau. of Mary Gibbs Spooner; sister of Cecil Spooner (actress) and F. E. Spooner (actor); m. Arthur Behrens (Whaley).
Made stage debut as a child in her parents' company; was principally connected to her mother's theater in Brooklyn, appearing in such roles as Zaza, Camille, Magda, Juliet, Dorothy Vernon, Nell Gwynne, Leah, and Du Barry; headed the Proctor Stock Company at the Fifth Avenue Theater (1907); wrote the play 1776.
