American murderer. Born Lofie Louise Preslar in LA, 1883; executed April 11, 1947; m. Richard C. Peete, 1915, and others; children: at least 1.
After being acquitted for murder in Waco, Texas, found guilty in California for murder of her employer and lover, Jacob Charles Denton; served 19 years before being paroled (1943) to an elderly couple, Margaret and Arthur Logan, who had offered her a home with them; murdered Margaret Logan (1944) and had Arthur Logan placed in an asylum; convicted for Margaret's murder, became 2nd woman in California history to be executed in gas chamber.
