Panov, Galina (1949–)

Soviet ballet dancer. Born Galina Ragozina, 1949, in Archangel, USSR; studied with Galina Ulanova; m. Valery Panov (ballet dancer and choreographer).

Danced with Kirov Ballet (1970–74), in classical repertory works, including The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty, and numerous Soviet works, such as Creation of the World (1971); with husband, defected to Israel (1974), then made guest appearances in US, Canada, Australia and England; danced with Berlin Opera Ballet in such works as Cinderella (1978) and The Idiot (1979).
