Paciotti, Elena Ornella (1941–)

Italian judge and politician. Born Jan 9, 1941, in Rome, Italy.

Became a magistrate (1967), spending much of career at the Milan Court as a civil judge and criminal judge; elected member of the Supreme Court of the Magistrature, the 1st woman to hold this office; served as president of National Magistrates' Association (1994–95, 1997–98); as a European Socialist, elected to 5th European Parliament (1999–2004).
