Maximova, Ekaterina (1939–)

Soviet ballet dancer. Name variations: Ykaterina Maximova. Born Feb 1, 1939, in Moscow, Russia.

Studied at school of Bolshoi Ballet under Elizaveta Gerdt; joined Bolshoi where she continued to perform throughout career; performed as Marie in Yuri Grigorovich's The Nutcracker (1966), as a principal in his Spartacus, as Katerina in his The Stone Flower, and had numerous other principal parts, including in Les Sylphides.
