Littlefield, Dorothie (c. 1908–1953)
American ballet dancer. Born c. 1908, in Philadelphia, PA; died Aug 16, 1953, in Evanston, IL; dau. of Caroline Littlefield (c. 1882–1957, ballet dancer); sister of Catherine Littlefield (1904–1951, dancer).
Trained with mother, then with Lyubov Egorova; danced with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in Aurora's Wedding and Schéhérézade; taught at School of American Ballet during its 1st season; danced in sister's Littlefield Ballet where she created roles in Bolero (1936), The Sleeping Beauty (1937), and Classic Suite (1937), among others.
