Lehmann, Christa (1922–)

German murderer. Born 1922; m. Karl Franz Lehmann, 1944.

Using a then new organic phosphorus compound identified as E-605, attempted to poison neighbor Eva Ruh with a laced chocolate truffle but instead killed her own friend Annie Hamann (Ruh's daughter) and the family dog, both of whom partook of the chocolate; confessed to this crime (Feb 23, 1954) and later to the poisoning murders of her husband Karl and her father-in-law; convicted (Sept 20) and received a life sentence.
