Austrian poet, novelist and short-story writer. Name variations: (pseudonym) Marius Stone. Born July 22, 1859, in Mödling, Vienna, Austria; died April 28, 1927, in Munich, Germany; illeg. dau. of Anna Tölk (officer's widow); m. Hubert Janitschek (art historian), 1882 (died 1893).
Wrote notorious poem, "Ein modernes Wein," about a disgraced woman who challenges a man to a duel and kills him; published Irdische und unirdische Träume (1899), Im Sommerwind (1895) and Gesammelte Gedichte (1910).
