Istomina, Anna (1925–)

Canadian ballet dancer. Born Audrée Thomas, Oct 9, 1925, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; studied with June Roper; m. Serge Ismailoff (dancer); children: Gregory Ismailov (dancer).

Performed 1 season with Opéra Russe à Paris (c. 1939); danced with Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo (1940–44) where she was featured in works by Massine, including Rouge et Noir, Bacchanale and Aleko; danced for Ballet Russe Highlights in Polish Festival and Premiére Polka (1944–46); as guest prima ballerina, danced with Ballet de Teatro Colón in Rio de Janeiro, in Swan Lake, Giselle, and Les Sylphides (1947–48), and with Ballet Nacional de Venezuela (1957–58); worked at Radio City Music Hall (1950s); ran a ballet school with husband in White Plains, NY.
