Imlay, Fanny (1794–1816)

Daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft. Name variations: Fanny Imlay Godwin. Born in Le Havre, France, May 1794; committed suicide, Sept 1816; illeg. dau. of Mary Wollstonecraft (1759–1797) and Gilbert Imlay; half-sister of Mary Shelley (1797–1851).

Seven of her letters, written the year of her death, are included in The Clairmont Correspondence, published by Johns Hopkins (1996).
