Austrian poet and baroness. Name variations: Baroness von Greiffenberg. Born Catharina Regina von Greiffenberg, Sept 7, 1633, in Burg Seyssenegg bei Amstetten, Lower Austria; died April 10, 1694, in Nuremberg, Germany; m. Baron Hans Rudolph von Greiffenberg, 1664.
Father died (1641); married uncle who had acted as benefactor; after husband's death (1677), fled persecution of Protestants in Austria for Nuremberg and became established poet; writings include Geistliche Sonnette/Lieder und Gedichte (1662), Tugend-Übungen sieben Lustwehlender Schäferinnen (1675), and Sieges-Seule der Buße und des Glaubens (1675).
