Gee, Helen (1919–2004)

American art gallery owner. Born Helen Charlotte Wimmer, April 29, 1919, in Jersey City, New Jersey; dau. of Peter Wimmer; m. Yun Gee (Chinese modernist painter), 1942 (div.); m. Kevin Sullivan (div.); children: (1st m.) Li-lan Gee (artist).

Launched the Limelight photography gallery in Greenwich Village (1954), which became a pioneering blueprint for the showcasing and selling of photography as an art form; closed Limelight (1961) and became an art consultant.
