Francis, Eve (1886–1980)

Belgian-born stage and screen actress. Born Aug 24, 1886, in Saint Josse ten Node, Belgium; died Dec 6, 1980, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France; m. Louis Delluc (director and theorist), 1918 (died 1924).

Star of the Paris stage, made silent film debut in La dame blonde (1914), followed by Le roi de la mer, Le silence, El Dorado, Club de femmes, Antoinette Sabrier, Forfaiture (also asst. director), La chair de l'orchidée and Adieu poulet, among others; also worked for Germaine Dulac and Marcel L'Herbier. Named Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.
