French murderer (accused). Born c. 1859 in France; m. Paul Francey.
Born into wealthy commercial family in Tonnère, was married at 19 to Paul Francey; shot architect Hippolyte Bazard whom she accused of attempted rape (1885); was arrested, charged with murder, and went on trial, where prosecution alleged that murder had been committed to cover up an affair with him; was acquitted after skilled defense by Edgar Demange.
