New Zealand shopkeeper. Name variations: Chan Yau-nui. Born Chan Yau-nui, between 1873 and 1875, in Xinhui, Guangdong province, China; died Aug 18, 1940, in Auckland, New Zealand; dau. of Chan Doon Tai (farmer) and She Hoo Tai; m. Thomas Wong Doo, 1898 (remarried according to New Zealand law, 1915); children: 2 daughters, 3 sons.

Immigrated to New Zealand with husband (1915); helped to manage grocery store that specialized in Chinese imports and served as cultural center for new immigrants.
