Donovan, Anne (1961–)

American basketball player and coach. Born Nov 1, 1961, in Ridgewood, New Jersey; attended Old Dominion.

Named to two Kodak All-American teams, the Naismith College Player of the Year, and Champion Player of the Year by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (all 1983); won team gold medals at Los Angeles Olympics (1984) and Seoul Olympics (1988); was a coach at Old Dominion (1989–95) and East Carolina University (1995–97); coached the ABL Philadelphia Rage (1997–98), WNBA Indiana Fever (2000), and WNBA Charlotte Sting (2001–02), taking the Sting to the WNBA finals; became coach for WNBA Seattle Storm (2002); picked to coach the US 2006 World Championship and 2008 Olympic teams. Inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame (1995).
