Countess of Pembroke. Name variations: Isabel Marshall, countess Strigoil. Born around 1174; died in 1220; interred at Tintern Abbey; daughter of Richard de Clare (b. 1130), 2nd earl of Pembroke, and Aoife (Eva) MacMurrough , countess of Ireland; married William Marshall, 1st earl of Pembroke, in August 1189; children: William Marshall, 2nd earl of Pembroke; Richard Marshall, 3rd earl of Pembroke; Maud Marshall (d. 1248); Gilbert Marshall, 4th earl of Pembroke; Sybilla Marshall ; Isabel Marshall (1200–1240); Joan Marshall (d. after 1234, who married Warine de Monchensy, lord of Swanscombe); Eve de Braose ; Walter Marshall, 5th earl of Pembroke; Anselme Marshal, 6th earl of Pembroke (some sources cite him as 9th earl of Pembroke).
