Born July 19, 1681; died Oct 23, 1733; acceded as duchess of Marlborough, 1722; dau. of Sarah Jennings Churchill (1660–1744) and John Churchill (1650–1722), 1st duke of Marlborough (r. 1702–1722); m. Francis Godolphin, 2nd earl of Godolphin, April 23, 1698; children: William, marquess of Blandford; Henrietta Godolphin (d. 1776, who m. Thomas Pelham-Holles, 1st duke of Newcastle); Mary Godolphin (d. 1764, who m. Thomas Osborne, 4th duke of Leeds).
