Carter, Una Isabel (1890–1954)

New Zealand cooking teacher and writer. Born Aug 20, 1890, near Marton, New Zealand; died Oct 14, 1954, in London, England; dau. of William Alfred Carter (farmer) and Selina (Brown) Carter; m. Albert David Stanley (secretary), 1924.

Began career giving cooking classes at Wellington Gas Co. (1913); established cooking school (1913); demonstrated art of cooking throughout New Zealand and Australia; writings include The National Cookery Book (1918) and Home Made Sweets.
