After her 24-year-old lover Michael Scott Stephen was found shot to death at her Knightsbridge home (May 31, 1932), claimed shooting was accidental; tried for murder at Old Bailey, was defended by Patrick Hastings and found not guilty; moved to France; found dead 4 years later in a Paris hotel bedroom.
