New Zealand artist. Name variations: Mina Arndt. Born Hermina Arndt, April 18, 1885, near Arrowtown, New Zealand; died on Dec 22, 1926, in Wellington, New Zealand; dau. of Herman Arndt (merchant) and Marie (Beaver) Arndt; m. Lionel Manoy (merchant), 1917; children: 1 son.
Studied art at Wellington Technical College in 1905 and 1906, and attended art school in London, Berlin, Cornwall (early 1900s); briefly interned at outset of WWI, but released in women-prisoner exchange; returned to New Zealand and opened studio (1914); exhibited throughout New Zealand, Australia, and Europe; most notable painting was The Red Hat; work held in private collections and galleries in New Zealand, England, Australia, and France.
