Cuban author. Name variations: (pseudonyms) Nora Lin, D. Polimita. Born Dora Alonso on Dec 22, 1910, in Máximo Gómez, Cuba; died Mar 21, 2001, in Cuba.

Published story "Humildad," which won a top prize from the journal Bohemia (1931); moved to Havana (1935), where she contributed to a number of Latin American journals; published 1st novel, Tierro adentro (1944); a dedicated member of the Communist Party, traveled throughout Mexico, Europe, and the former Soviet Union; works include Cain (1955) and Once caballos (Eleven Horses, 1970).
