Walter Holbrook Gaskell
Walter Holbrook Gaskell
1847-1914
English physiologist whose research in experimental physiology contributed to a greater understanding of the autonomic nervous system. In particular, Gaskell studied the vasomotor nerves of striated muscle, the central sympathetic nerves, and innervation of the heart. He described his findings in his book The Involuntary Nervous System.
