Simon Tunsted

English scholar of Minorite order who advanced in study to become a doctor of theology and wrote on music theory and earth science. Born at Norwich, he became master of Minorites at Oxford (1351). He wrote a significant Latin commentary on Aristotle's Meteorologica containing new nominalistic aspects in a format that was incorrectly attributed to the well-known Scottish nominalist Duns Scotus (c. 1266-1308).
