Morris E. Davis
American physician who in 1965 was the first to show that estrogen therapy could prevent osteoporosis and arteriosclerosis in post-menopausal women. This discovery led the way to recognition of these problems as well as suggesting ways to help reduce their effects in older women. It also led to increasing use of preventative measures, such as measuring bone density and taking calcium supplements.
