Johan Carl Wilcke

German physicist who is known for his work with electricity and magnetism. Wilcke used a Leyden jar, which is covered on the outside and inside with tin foil and has a metal rod through the lid connected to the inner foil, to experiment with the conduction of electricity. He also designed the first chart demonstrating magnetic inclination and developed a theory of specific heat independent of Joseph Black.
