E. B. Ford

American biologist and geneticist who helped confirm some important aspects of population genetics. Early researchers in population genetics, Godfrey Hardy and Wilhelm Weinberg had developed relationships describing the distribution of genetic traits in populations. In a classic experiment, Ford conducted the first definitive study (using wing spotting in scarlet tiger moths) to demonstrate the accuracy of the Hardy-Weinberg Law.
