Britton Chance

1913-

A multifaceted American chemist and physiologist who is renowned for his work in the field of enzymatics. His primary work in this area consisted of demonstrating how reactants and enzymes interact to form a complex and the study of enzyme kinetics. Chance is also well known for his work on how mitochondria function to make cellular energy, as well as for his efforts in developing automated instruments and circuits for radar and navigation during World War II.
