Zaproridae
Zaproridae (prowfish; subclass Actinopterygii, order Perciformes) A monospecific family (Zaprora silenus) of marine, bottom-dwelling fish that live at depths of 100–500 m, although the juveniles have been found associated with planktonic jellyfish. The prowfish grows to 88 cm long and has a stout, compressed body with a blunt head, a very long, low, dorsal fin, rounded pectoral and tail fins, but no pelvic fins. It is found only in the colder waters of the N. Pacific.
