Propionibacterium A genus of Gram-positive bacteria in which the cells are variable in shape, forming branched or unbranched, regular or irregular ovoids, rods, or filaments. They are chemo-organotrophic and grow only in the absence of air. They are found, for example, in dairy products and on skin.
