Heterodontidae (Port Jackson shark, bullhead shark; subclass Elasmobranchii, order Heterodontiformes) A small family of marine sharks that have two dorsal fins each preceded by a stout spine and eyes protected by a dorsal ridge marking the otherwise blunt head profile. These sharks are bottom-dwelling and fairly slow-moving animals, feeding on molluscs, crabs, etc. There are about six species, occurring in the Indo-Pacific region.
