Eutracheophytic An epoch in the evolution of plants, proposed in 1993 by J. Gray, that lasted from the late Lochkovian (about 398 Ma) in the Early Devonian until the middle Permian (about 256 Ma). During this time the diversity of spores and plant megafossils increases greatly, with several classic assemblages, and a marked increase in the diversity of vascular plants.
