Epacris

Epacris (family Epacridaceae) A genus mostly of shrubs, similar to Erica and Calluna species in the northern hemisphere. They have narrow, simple, sessile, and alternate leaves. The flowers are small and borne in spikes or racemes. There are several ovules to each locule, and the fruit is a capsule. There are 35 species, endemic to southeastern Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand.
