Entada (family Leguminosae, subfamily Mimosoideae) A genus of shrubs and big, woody climbers, several of which have gigantic flat pods, up to 2 m long. The seeds are big and flat, and are often carried by sea currents. Cut stems of many climbers yield potable water. There are about 30 species, with pantropical distribution.
