Endomychidae (subclass Pterygota, order Coleoptera) Family of rounded, convex, hairy beetles, 2–8 mm long, with an expanded pronotum covering most of the head. Many are brilliantly coloured. The antennae are conspicuously clubbed. Normally the beetles are associated with fungi on forest trees. Larvae are oval, with sides concealed by expanded tergites. Temperate species are found in decaying vegetation, dung, and stored products. There are 1100 species, mostly tropical.
